How to Work Online
A few “gamers” remember “back in the day” about Christmas in 1975. Atari became the first company to manufacture and distribute a game. The game console was equipped with two knobs that could be turned left and right and moved the small rectangle both up and down with one knob on the left side , and the opposite to the left. The movement of this rectangle allowed”the “player” to hit a small ball back and back and forth between the two players in an attempt to “play the angle” by hitting it against the edge of the paddle, aiming to “give it English” or an angle that is sharp to get the point. The very first “Video Tennis or Ping Pong” game, I would guess, could be a suitable reference, but in reality it was called “PONG”.
Then, a year later, came the creation of a cartridge-based console, known as The Video Computer System (VCS) which was later renamed Atari 2600 and the next generation of creators introduced games like galaxian, space Invaders, Asteroids, Moon Patrol, Frogger, Donkey Kong, and more. (who was the little guy who jumped onto those barrels? It’s a mystery). The very first football game of Atari 2600. Atari 2600 allowed you to play as a single player and the opponent was controlled by the 3-man D-Line or one player. The good old days ….
1980 brought 1980, which was the “Golden Era” of video games like Defender, Battle Zone, Zork and one game that was known as, let me look what it was? Oh , yes, Pacman ……. Does anyone remember that? (just kidding)
In the year 1985, around 1985, the “console game” market hit an impasse as desktop computers and hand-held devices took over the crowded market. Then came the 8-bit devices and an company known as Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was born along with a couple of Italian people dubbed Mario along with Lugi Mario. Mario first was seen in the 1982 arcade smash Donkey Kong, and became immediately a sensation. Mario was back 2 months later, as Mario Bros., his first role as a title character. The film also brought Lugi to the general public. Mario first made his debut with the Nintendo Entertainment System in Super Mario Bros. One of the top-selling games ever. The game introduced Mario into the homes of millions all over the world, and made him a pop culture celebrity with the same stature as Harrison Ford, Arnold Swartzneger and Tom Cruise. Apart from all of the games, he’s been featured in three animated series as well as one major motion film (although they did employ live actors rather than his character). In a poll conducted in 1991 that was conducted, the majority of children could recognize an image from Mario rather than Mickey Mouse.
The 1990’s saw us enter”the “shooters” era with games like Wolfenstein 3D and Doom. After Doom and Wolfenstein 3D, retail publishers and developers started to adopt the same practice of offering demos. This practice led to a reduction in shareware’s popularity for the remainder in the decade. In the same time the growing computer capability of personal computers was beginning to enable basic 3D graphics. 1993’s Doom particularly was responsible for the creation of the genre and distinguishing it from other first-person point-of-view games. The mid 90’s saw the introduction of Genra games like 메이저놀이터, which was the first of the “Sim” games, beginning with SimCity and going on to a range of games, including SimEarth, SimCity 2000, SimAnt, SimTower, and the hugely popular day-to- Sims day-to-day life simulator The Sims in 2000. The 90s also witnessed the first steps of Internet gaming, including games called MUDs (Multi-User Dungeons) in the beginning. The 1996 game by Id Software Quake was the first game to use online gaming on the Internet for first-person shooters. Internet multiplayer was a standard feature in nearly all games we now play.
With the advent of new technologies however, with the exception of console and online games are the norm. The “arcade” as we knew it, has largely gone out of fashion, past. It is now restricted to costly games that are not accessible to the home user. They are typically built around sports like cycling or skiing and rhythm games such as Dance Dance Revolution, which have created a significant part from the marketplace.
