Action (CIA)
Mission: It shall
be the purpose of the department to lead the church in making witness
to their faith through the various social agencies in their community,
state, nation, and world which minister to any human need.
Initiatives
include: Beaufort
County Disaster Recovery, The Blind
Center, Bloodmobile, Coastal Pregnancy, Cropwalk, Eagles Wings, Food Bank, Food
for Folks, Furniture Ministry, Habitat for Humanity, InterChurch Forum, Jail
Ministry, Options for Domestic Violence, Relay for Life, Zion Shelter.
Christian
Education
Mission: It shall
be the purpose of this department to develop an effective program of
Christian education for the entire constituency of the church in
keeping with the general
objectives of Christian education.
Evangelism
and Church Growth
Purpose: It shall
be the purpose of this department to develop and cultivate a climate
for evangelism and church growth, creating, promoting, and sustaining a
year-round program for evangelism and growth.
Mission:
The Evangelism Committee is to reach out to those who do not have a
church with the Gospel of Jesus. We are also to nurture and
enrich our current congregation in their knowledge of Jesus the Christ.
Membership
Mission: To
continue to develop an environment of fellowship and care of the
congregation so that
everyone may function effectively in the life of the church.
Properties
Department
Mission: It shall
be the purpose of the department to care for all properties of the
church.
Stewardship
and Finance
Purpose: It shall
be the purpose of the department to develop within the membership an
understanding of the full meaning of Christian stewardship and so to
direct the financial program of the church that it will not only supply
the financial needs, but
prove a means of spiritual enrichment and character building for each
one
participating.
Mission:
The Stewardship
and Finance Department is dedicated to develop an understanding of the
full
meaning of Christian stewardship. It will direct the financial
program
of the church that will supply the financial needs and provide the
spiritual
enrichment for each church member.
World
Outreach
Purpose: To solicit
financial support
for Disciples of Christ mission projects locally and around the world
and
to increase congregational awareness of the mission work. The
Department’s
major responsibility is to coordinate activities around the Special Day
Offerings.
Mission: It shall
be the purpose of the department to create and foster a world vision
within the
church and its auxiliary organizations and to lead in planning and
administering
the world work program of the church.
Worship Department
Purpose:
The purpose of the worship department is to lead the membership in a
genuine experience of worship in the public services and to enrich personal and
family devotional. It is responsible for:

Public worship of the church

Administration of baptism and the Lord’s Supper

Music
-
Greeting,
ushering
-
Mid-week
and special prayer service
-
Encouragement of devotional life
among individual members and homes of the church
Mission:
It shall be the purpose
of this department to lead the membership in a genuine experience of worship in
the public services and to enrich personal and family devotional life.
